This program – Dance Is Like A Fine Wine – will include some favorite dance films from the past few years, featuring dancers across the age spectrum. Styles range from ballet to buck dancing, and from performance art to social dance. This showcase features documentaries, narratives, and art films that center on dancing bodies and the lives of dancers, especially as they age.
The films hail from Finland, the US, Canada, France, and Sweden. One even features former Boulder dancer/choreographer Nancy Spanier.
Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema is a 16-year old Boulder-based organization that sources films from around the world, and produces several screening events each year in Boulder and beyond.
Admission to the screening is FREE, thanks to support from Boulder Arts Commission and Boulder County Arts Alliance. Light refreshments will be served, and open discussion time held after the screening.
